Today did feel heavy—and uncomfortably warm. The long-sleeved t-shirt probably didn’t help.

I am obsessing over endings
few of them are mine

Most I haven’t even thought of yet

I debate whether forgetting is
a blessing or a curse—
and dread it happening either way

If I were the clerk on duty
there’d be gaps in the record—
there ARE gaps in the record
thanks to my ill-advised
writing-in-highlighter phase

I have managed
to dump some ballast
but fear it will be a while
before I can travel light
