Bookstore Poem #575. In which I go to the post office three times within 30 minutes

I think I’ve stumbled upon a series with this ‘undisputed king’ thing…

1
The undisputed king of indecision
is driving to the post office

He was just at the post office
but then his mother left him a message
asking him to buy stamps
because she isn’t feeling well
has three or four letters to send out
and can’t go to the post office herself

He’s not going to the same post office
this one is closer
and he will have to go home
to get an envelope anyway

2
The undisputed king of making others happy
is driving to the post office

He has successfully retrieved an envelope
which he has addressed and stamped
and must now mail

He is going back to the same post office this time
because it is still closer

He wonders if the clerk
will think it’s strange
to see him again so soon

3
The undisputed king of impulse decisions
is sitting in a comfortable chair
at his favourite bookstore
writing a poem
about mailing stamps to his mother
