Here is my Day 20 poem using the napowrimo.net prompt: Write a poem grounded in language as it is spoken.
Oh, man—I don’t know about that
I thought it was a good idea
but the way it turned out?
Yeah, I don’t know about that
When they first brought it up
I said DO IT
It was so preposterous
that it was gonna be worth seeing
just for the laughs
Who knew anyone
would actually
take the guy seriously?
I mean, don’t these people
remember the eighties?
I don’t know
Like I said
I thought it was a good idea
but the way it turned out?
Fucking ridiculous
