Lines too fine to draw within (a poem)

Not really in a writing mood today, but I managed this…

I’m drawn to wilder textures
loath though I am to put them on myself
I know what doesn’t fit me well
and the futility of forcing the peg
into incompatible holes
Yes, I know incompatible flavours
sometimes produce surprises—
you should have seen me yesterday
Don’t make me say the words
I know you like to play with words
but for me it’s a matter of consequence
I don’t like to get too comfortable
that’s when I become complacent
and one loose rivet brings the whole structure down
and then it’s already time to go…
