Bonus round…

The cracked-screen device
is put into capture mode

Sluggish and slow
it drinks the heat
from my fingertip
as though it were bourbon
after a brush with death

The wound rips
down the center of the frame
challenging notions of propriety
while pretending
I don’t notice

I will blur
the image later
and pass it off
as pornography
before coming back
with the duct tape
