I am in training
to fall in love
with the absurd

As a consequence
I am in love
with the shapes of the letters
on the page
whether or not they make sense

My ability to wield a pen
is not in question

But how I wield it
is

I recognize all the letters
of the alphabet
but it seems my ability to reproduce them
is fluid

So, while I am generally not a fan
of my own handwriting
what is on this sheet of paper
is deserving of my affection

Isn’t that absurd?
