National Poetry Writing Month 2017, Day 28

My Day 28 poem for National Poetry Writing Month uses the prompt on—to write a poem using Skeltonic verse.

A short Skeltonic verse written under the influence of an oncoming migraine on a Friday afternoon when the weather won’t make up its bleeding mind and I’m too tired to go anywhere so what else am I going to do…

This verse is Skeltonic
better that than a colonic
or an ineffective tonic
or the boom from a supersonic
It’s the prompt, so I’m on it
the prize, I’ll have won it
If I hadn’t have done it
the day would be a waste
Does your kid still eat paste?
No, I don’t want a taste…
