My day 14 poem for National Poetry Writing Month uses the prompt from Napowrimo.net—to write a clarihew. I wanted to avoid writing about our president-inator, or any other political figure, so I decided to pay tribute to local legend Tony James.
Tony James clerihew
The man called Tony James
goes by many different names.
From Gaydolf to Freckles and a band called L80 [‘lady’]
so many avenues for talent so weighty!

Lovely! And I enjoyed this word too: president-inator 🙂
Thanks! I came up with that word to joke about having Arnold Schwarzenegger as president instead of our current White House occupant—then I realized it sounded more like a Dr. Doofenshmirtz invention. (If you’re not familiar with Dr. Doofenshmirtz, he’s the evil scientist on Phineas & Ferb who is always trying to implement an evil plan to take over the Tri-State area. To do this, he invents various devices and contraptions, which he gives names that always end in -inator. Of course, they either don’t work as intended, or get used on Doofenshmirtz himself, and his evil schemes end in failure.)
Thanks for that explanation 🙂 I know who you mean but didn’t know him by name. The combination of sounds also made me think of president-impersonator.
Remember, he’s got his own jingle: https://youtu.be/FJeBHiDOTPE
