Yes, despite having posted a list of 52 bits of trivia about myself, my challenge to myself this week is to avoid writing “I” poems.

Since a lot of my writing is me trying to make sense of everything, I tend to write a lot about my own experiences and perceptions. Sometimes, though, I get tired of writing about myself—well, tired of writing about myself in the first person. So, while writing about myself in the first person may not be completely avoidable, I am at least going to avoid using the word ‘I’ in my poems over the next few days. Will it work? We shall see…
