I’m generally not surprised so much by what I hear as by the fact that I’m hearing it…

One and one make two
but one and one
don’t make dim light shine any brighter

The things you do
the things you didn’t do
the tragedy
the mystery
are all the same once we’re gone

Somehow someone carries on

The honour is all yours
as far as a life with and without honour goes

I’d never have known
but for the things people remember
and talk about in unexpected moments
