An observation while watching the ‘Broken’ episode of House.

The ache rings
from the strings
that hum the melody
into the room

Tears fall
but not me

those depths
are inaccessible
by mortals
and disembodied sound

The bow continues
to coax sounds
from the strings

too far removed
from the here and now
they cannot move me

they cannot break
through the wall
