A nonsensical phrase turns into a nonsensical poem…

The stan collar stripped
outside of Abbotsford Kingdom
punctures a lesson
meant for someone of assumed identity

The constable tasked with cleanup
was late for work because of car trouble—
his 1971 Toyota Corona kept stopping
to drop off a different engine part
on each block

By the time he pulled into the driveway
that car was as fuel-efficient
and eco-friendly as it is possible to get

Unfortunately for the constable
the number of lesson fragments
exceeds the number of discarded engine parts
by a factor of eleven to one

He’s going to be busy for a while
