Wonky web-site-type stuff

Today I spent a chunk of time figuring out how to incorporate this blog into my web site—o, the joys of web site maintenance! It took me a while—and a few admin-type procedures—but I was able to get it set up and working. This will undoubtedly necessitate a few more changes, but now this blog will function more as part of my web site. For those folks arriving at the blog via the web site, I have added a link back in the navigation menu that will take you back.

I have also upgraded my web site’s certificate in order to get rid of that pesky warning about a possibly invalid certificate. (Apparently, the self-signed certificate option wasn’t quite good enough; it worked, but you had to get past the warning first.)

The blog and my web site will differ in appearance, since the premium theme I use for the web site is not available for the WordPress.com blog—but not everything I do fits neatly together, so I am okay with that. It is more important to me that I have only one blog to maintain, and do not have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get people to go from blog to web site, and vice versa.

As Casey Kasem (R.I.P.) would say, on with the countdown…
